Desde hace años se celebra en Guatemala en dos fechas diferentes. Para algunas comunidades es el 20 de febrero, y para otras es el 1 de abril de 2019.
Varios Ajq’ijab’ celebran las dos fechas. Inician los preparativos de la celebraciòn del Año nuevo Ab’ (calendario civil agrìcola Maya) el 20 de febrero, cuarenta dìas antes del primero de abril.
