    ”Tzutu Baktun Kan nació en Solola Santa María Visitación, Guatemala, el 29 de abril de 1978. Pertenece a la Nación Maya Tz’utujil. Es músico y cantor en el género Hip-Hop, pintor, escultor, bio-constructor, orador y activista en la defensa de los pueblos originarios.
    Él logró introducir el Hip-Hop en la lengua maya, dinamizándolo en sus códigos y signos, se mueve entre lo antiguo y lo moderno, haciendo una interesante simbiosis, en el que el reclamo por la justicia social, se hace desde el lenguaje poético y la cosmogonía maya. Retomando los estilos orales de su nación, asume la defensa de la defensa de su lengua, de su cultura y de su pueblo, transmitiendo en sus canciones las plegarias ancestrales y las dolorosas historias recientes de Guatemala.

    “La energía B´atz´ es el Big Ban, el inicio del universo y el tiempo; La Palabra Maya es la máxima creación sonora de la raíz ancestral, espiritual, social y política de los pueblos mesoamericanos, nuestra palabra es un gran Árbol, de su tronco el Proto-Maya se extiende en sus ramas principales el Huasteco, Yukateco, Cholan, Q´anjobal, Mam y Quicheano de las cuales se ramifican 32 idiomas Mayas.”
