El Tzolk’in es el calendario sagrado, conocido en el idioma K’ichè como Cholq’ij.Tiene como fin, ser una guìa espiritual para cada persona y el conjunto; la comunidad.Lo hace tomando como base el tiempo y utiliza la energìa de cada dìa para beneficios personales.
La idea de lo que se refiere al tiempo, la fluidez de las energìas en el universo tiene especial influencia en nuestra existencia, el sol juega un papel vital ya que es una fuente de vida.
Los efectos de la energìa del cosmos en la vida natural, personal y social se registra en este calendario.
