Nuestro sistema educativo exige que se aprenda en nuestro propio idioma (L1), en un segundo idioma nacional (L2 nacional) y en un idioma extranjero (L3 internacional). Los cuales, en la gran mayorìa, son Castellano, un idioma Maya e Inglès. Aùn asì, despues de 20 años de Reforma Educativa, una gran parte de guatemaltecos aùn es monolingüe.

Tambien tienen derecho a recibir instrucciòn formal desde su cultura e idioma.
